Plenty of firms can hand you a gap list against NIST SP 800-171. The hard part is getting from that list to an assessment you pass, and a score you can stand behind. There are two ways to get there. Core3 prepares you for either, and stays accountable for the plan.

Track 01 · Your own environment

Readiness across everything you run.

For contractors bringing their existing environment into scope. Core3 assesses every requirement at Level 1 or Level 2 against how you actually operate, then builds what the assessment will ask for.

  • Control-by-control gap analysis. Every requirement checked against the evidence that proves it, not a questionnaire.
  • System Security Plan and POA&M. Written to match your environment, and sequenced by what an assessor will test first and what your contracts require.
  • A readiness briefing for leadership. Where you stand, what it will cost to close, and how long it will take, in terms a CEO or CFO can decide on.
Track 02 · A secure enclave

Most controls inherited. The rest done properly.

For contractors who would rather contain controlled unclassified information than bring the whole company into scope. Alongside a secure enclave, most of the technical controls are inherited on day one. The rest stay with you under a shared responsibility matrix: personnel, physical security, and training, and your own System Security Plan. That side is the work Core3 does.

  • Your side of the matrix. The controls you own, documented, evidenced, and ready to show.
  • Your System Security Plan and POA&M. Built on the matrix, so what the enclave covers and what you cover never overlap or leave a gap.
  • The systems outside the enclave. Anything the enclave does not cover still carries obligations, and Core3 assesses readiness across it.
